Literature Text

So many times I stumbled and fell.
You'd do nothing, though I'd scream and yell.
No hand to help me, no shoulder for tears,
No arm around me to soothe my fears.

Chorus:
Still you…yes you think you know what is best for me
You think you can see my destiny
And you don't understand.
Stop holding my hand.
And you are not my god
I'm not your playing sand.

I am on my own
I can go alone
I'll make my life
The joy and strife
Without you
Without you

Now that I'm standing, you want to say
The path I'm walking is not the way.
You want to lead me, to make me change,
But I'm free of you, free of those chains.

Chorus:
Still you…yes you think you know what is best for me
You think you can see my destiny
And you don't understand.
Stop holding my hand.
And you are not my god
I'm not your playing sand.

I am stronger now
I will find out how
To live my life
The joy and strife
Without you
Without you

(Guitar solo)

You are so certain that you know me
Your eyes are closed and you cannot see
That I am happy, I no longer cry
I wand to live now, I don't want to die.

Chorus:
Still you, yes you do not know what is best for me,
You cannot foresee my destiny.
So please try to understand
I'm not about to change.
So please stop playing God
You cannot make me change.

No matter what you say
I am on my way
I'm living my life
The joy and strife
Without you
Or with you
It's up to you
Mom, I love you.

(I can't decide whether to leave the last line or take it off….)

This has a melody, an idea of an accompaniment, but none acutally written. This has a very distinct Evanescence flair, all rock, female vocals, etc.
